Dr. Tom Moonen DMD, MCID, FCDS(BC)

Dr. Tom Moonen attended the University of British Columbia for his undergraduate sciences and dental degree (DMD). He then practiced family dentistry for 2 years in Vancouver before returning to school to pursue his Graduate Orthodontic Degree (MClD) at the University of Western Ontario. He returned home to Vancouver where he has been practicing on the North Shore since 1991.  He opened the current practice in Westview in 1997.

Dr. Moonen was born in Vancouver and along with his three brothers, spent most of his childhood here. His last few years of high school were spent in Courtenay, on Vancouver Island, after his family moved there to experience a more rural lifestyle.  

He currently enjoys spending time with his wife, Tania, an Orchestral Conductor, and their two sons, Matthew and Benjamin. The family enjoys skiing, biking, and traveling.

Dr. Moonen is a clinical assistant professor at the University of B.C. and has taught there for over a decade. He is the past-president of the B.C. Society of Orthodontists and a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontics and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the Seattle Study Club which focuses on interdisciplinary dentistry and has lectured to local and international audiences.

Dr. Lenore Louie DMD, MSC, BSC

Dr. Lenore Louie attended the University of British Columbia (UBC) for her undergraduate Bachelors of Science (Hon., 1997) and her Master of Science (2000) degrees, both in Biochemistry. She continued her studies at UBC and graduated from dental school in 2004 (DMD). Dr. Louie practiced for 2 years as a general dentist before returning to university to obtain her graduate certificate in orthodontics (University of Las Vegas Nevada, 2008). Following the completion of her residency, she returned to the lower mainland to practice orthodontics. She has had the pleasure of working as an associate in a few different orthodontic offices, which has provided her with an array of techniques and experiences. She joined Dr. Moonen in 2016 and they have been treating patients together since. Dr. Louie also has an orthodontic office in Port Coquitlam.

Dr. Louie was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia for several years. She is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the British Columbia Society of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. She is also a member of several study clubs and actively pursues continuing education to learn about the latest advancements in dentistry and orthodontics to provide her patients with innovative and the most up to date treatment options and care.

Dr. Louie was born in Coquitlam and raised in the Lower Mainland. Away from orthodontics, she spends her time with the husband and three children, and giving back to the community. They enjoy numerous athletic and outdoor activities, but she particularly likes yoga and running. Dr. Louie especially loves to travel.
