Crowding
This patient had four premolars extracted so that the remaining teeth could be aligned without protruding the front teeth.

Crossbite
In this case the upper front tooth was trapped behind the lower front tooth, which, if left alone, would cause traumatic wear on both front teeth. Braces were used to bring the top tooth forward and the lower tooth back.

Small lateral incisor
This patient had a small lateral incisor, commonly called a “peg lateral”, as well as a canine tooth that had not erupted on its own. We had the patient see a Periodontist to get the hidden canine exposed and then used braces to bring all the teeth into alignment, allowing room around the peg lateral for the patient’s Dentist to build it up to the right size after treatment.
